?How is Termwood produced
The production process, or more correctly, the processing of thermo wood, consists of several stages. That is, the thermowoods that you buy from the market and install in different parts of the building, are made of ordinary soft wood in several stages. These steps are generally as follows
Cutting soft wood in desired dimensions and sizes -
as we said and as you definitely know, the base and foundation of Termwood is wood. Therefore, in the first place, the Scandinavian softwoods are cut in the desired dimensions and sizes. After cutting, the surface of these woods is completely smoothed and polished by modern equipment
Reducing the humidity (drying) of wood -
after cutting and leveling the surface of the wood is reduced to -5% by using special systems. Drying and reducing the moisture content of wood is done with the aim of increasing its durability. Because if the wood has moisture, it will definitely crack or swell over time
Changing the properties of wood using heat of 180 to 230 degrees Celsius -
At this stage, the timbers are placed in a chamber with a constant temperature between 180 and 230 degrees Celsius for several days (about 96 hours). The temperature, air pressure and other parameters of this chamber vary depending on the type of timber and their thickness
The temperature of the room in which the wood is placed must be constant and not change during the mentioned period
The temperature of the mentioned room is determined based on the type of final product and whether it is suitable for indoor and indoor environment or outdoor environment and outdoor area such as facade of buildings. Woods that are supposed to be in the open environment or in the vicinity of water, are heated more and at a higher temperature
After this period, all the physical and chemical properties of wood change and we can say that raw wood becomes thermo wood
Cooling the thermo wood using steam -
After the heating time of soft wood is over, the temperature of the chamber will gradually decrease with the use of steam. This process, which itself takes a few hours, prevents the sudden temperature change of thermowoods and somehow increases their strength
Thermowood surface cleaning -
In the last step, individual thermowoods are sanded again to make their surface completely uniform. Finally, they are cut into desired dimensions. Of course, in most cases, the final cutting operation is done during the installation and implementation of thermo wood
